The Brikama Magistrate Court presided over by Magistrate Kayodeh last Tuesday February 17, sentenced one Modou Jallow a native Tanji to two weeks imprisonment without an option of fine after been found guilty of stabbing one Sering Mansur Sey, with a knife after a dispute between them over a tool box.

In his judgment, Magistrate Kayodeh said the court was convinced that the accused was remorseful over the act but not withstanding, some form of punishment must be meted on him to deter others from taking the law into their own hands.

Earlier on, the police prosecutor Sergeant Samurah, applied to the court for the complainant to be compensated for the injury sustained but the Magistrate rule out the application noting that the prosecution did not give sufficient reason(s) to the court and objected the application.
