Crowds stone UN troops in DRC

Hundreds of angry civilians stoned a convoy of UN peacekeepers after government soldiers stopped and searched a MONUC convoy and removed 10 militants being escorted to Goma. The contingent of MONUC troops were taking the nominally pro-government Mai Mai from the northern town of Rwindi to Goma as part of an ongoing disarmament and rehabilitation process, when they were blocked at an army checkpoint.
