Re – African unity: One voice –one people–one love

Editor,

President Jammeh, once again, has spoken positively about African countries uniting. This has been spoken about for many years, even though  it has never been successful. And indications are that it will take time before we achieve this aim.

But before anything, we must first have faith and trust in Allah/God as he has given us potentials that we have not yet tapped. Whatever we believe and conceive we are sure to achieve. If all the heads of state were like President Jammeh, believe me this unification would have happened a long time ago. But still, let’s be positive that we will unite; and with great efforts we will. There and then we will witness the true power and strength that we have.

Coming together should not be about fighting one another as to who will be the head of the new USA; it should be about the people and their needs, freedom to have a voice so that we are able to make positive changes to develop and keep the nation at peace. It will be so wonderful if we all can speak in one voice, one language so that we can communicate freely without barriers.

President Jammeh did us proud by not only attending the AU summit in Addis Ababa, but also being a great and positive advocator of the unification issue, and for expressing his support with his best wishes. Any group of people or things brought together as one forms a very strong bond and has power, carries weight and forms a whole. Let’s end with something from The Holy Quran: Surah 2:163.

In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful And Your God is One God: There is no God but He, most gracious, most merciful.
