Wednesday, December 17, 2008
The Banjul Magistrates Court yesterday adjourned the hearing in the sedition case in which British couple, David Fulton and his wife - Fiona, are the main accused.

When the case came up for hearing, Lawyer Antoumane Gaye, the defense counsel, submitted three applications: an application for an adjournment, disclosure of documents and reduction of the bail bond.

On the first request, Magistrate Edrissa Mbai, who was presiding over the hearing, granted the application by adjourning the case to December 22nd, 2008 despite the objection made by the prosecution.

Concerning the second application (disclosure of documents), the defense counsel requested to have access to all the necessary information pertaining to the case.

Finally, the court reduced the bail bond from 5 million dalasis to 2 millions dalasis.
