Antwerp-Banjul Challenge donates to Bato Kunku

The Antwerp- Banjul Challenge 2008 recently donated an ambulance to the community of Bato kunku village, Kombo South, at a colourful ceremony held at the village. The benevolent gesture was facilitated by the councilor of Kartong Ward Lamin Jamba Jammeh.

Speaking at the presentation, the Alkalo of Bato kunku, Fafa Jatta commended the donors for what he described as a laudable gesture. He promised that the ambulance will be utilized efficiently.

The deputy executive director of the Jammeh Foundation for Peace, Sulayman Badjie described the Antwerp- Banjul Challenge as a helping hand foundation that has contributed immensely towards the socio-economic advancement of Gambians.  He urged the beneficiaries to ensure that the vehicle is well taken care of.

For his part, Corde Bresse, the chairman of the Antwerp- Banjul Challenge, revealed that the hospitality of the Gambian people was his source of inspiration.  The councillor of Kartong Ward, Lamin Jamba Jammeh advised the beneficiaries to set up a management committee to ensure the proper maintenance and utilization of the ambulance.

Faburama Kinteh, the chairman of the Village Development Committee, thanked the facilitator of the donation. Other speakers included; Aja Biray Darboe, Dembo Jabang, the Alkalo of Tujareng Nema, and Aja Ousman Jallow, the lady councilor for Kombo South, who all urged the beneficiaries to unite and take proper care of the vehicle.
