A five-day bednet treatment workshop recently kicked-off at Gunjur Health Centre. The workshop brought together 45 participants from across Kombo South. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Buba Jatta, a nursing officer at Gunjur Health Centre, underscored the significance of workshop.
He said that the workshop was organised to equip participants with skills and techniques in bednet treatment which he said will lead to a reduction in the risk of malaria infection from mosquitoes in Gunjur and surrounding villages. He urged participants to take the workshop seriously and share what they have learned with their communities and colleagues.
For his part, Lamin Saidy, a participant, commended the health centre for organising the training which he said will contribute immensely to the eradication of malaria and mosquitoes not only in Gunjur and its surrounding villages but The Gambia at large.
